A Look Back at Edscape 2012
3October 15, 2012 by Brad Currie
The 2012 installment of Edscape held at New Milford High in New Milford, NJ was an unbelievable experience. Eric Sheninger, the founder and host of this great event, provided participants with a truly interactive and relevant experience. The keynote address by Vicki Davis was inspiring and really set the tone for what was to come during the day. The breakout sessions enabled participants to interact with some awesome minds in the field of education such as Pat Larkin, Joe Mazza , Brian Nichols and Dr. Spike Cook. I know speaking for myself and others, we have plenty of great ideas and initiatives that we can bring back to our schools that in turn will promote the success of all students.
The icing on the cake was the opportunity that the #satchat crew had to hold a live interactive session focusing on the topic of global leadership. Scott Rocco, Billy Krakower and Jeff Bradbury of TeacherCast really came together and provided an outstanding discussion on how current and emerging school leaders can help prepare students for the future. Edscape also gave everyone a chance to meet up with some of the “heavy hitters” in the world of Twitter. Hanging out with Tom Whitby and Adam Bellow was a definite treat and solidified what I do as a connected educator on a daily basis. The #njed crew was proudly represented by Dana Sirotiak Adi Madden Kevin Jarrett and Kevin Carroll to name a few. There is no doubt that Edscape had a profound impact on all participants and will help shed light on the importance of evolving as an educator.
It was a great day all around. Great time… great people…. great photos!
#woohoo!
Yes indeed. Just having Tom, Vicki, Adam, Eric and everyone else in the room was awesome.
